More Than Just A Building... Faith, Vision and Sacrifice!  It is with tremendous excitement and faith in God that New Hope is stepping into our building campaign! I will share in a moment how you can invest in this exciting building project, but I want to share a few thoughts first:

 

 

New Hope Christian Fellowship A/G has received a Great Commission and Great Commandment from God.  (Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15)

 

In simple terms, it means that our sincere love for God must be exhibited by our sincere love for others! The love of Christ within us, MUST be shared around us, by meeting the physical and spritial needs of others with love and compassion. It is through this ministry that we are privileged to see homes healed, marriages mended and lives changed by the love, grace and mercy of Jesus!

 

Because of this, we should do whatever it takes to facilitate the accomplishment of that commission to the best of our ability. The leadership of New Hope believes strongly that church buildings should clearly be understood to be “facilities”.  In other words, the purpose of a physical building should realistically be facilitating the fulfilment of our commission and calling. That’s it, plain and simple.  If that’s not what they’re for, we’ve already lost our way.

 

There is no doubt that alot of buildings get built for the wrong motives or misplaced priorities.

For example, we say we build buildings “to the glory of God” and though I understand the sentiment, we need to consider... Has a Mormon temple ever made you want to become a Mormon? Has the most amazing mosque in the world made you seriously consider becoming Muslim?

 

In other words, buildings don’t mean a lot to unchurched people… it’s only as they’re used for ministry that they take on any significance. So, whatever you have – or don’t have – use it like crazy to touch people for Christ!!!

 

At New Hope, we have felt God call us not to build a church building, but instead that our church would build a building that would help to further enable and facilitate the accomplishment of the Great Commission in the Shepherdsville community. Again, we believe that this building would help us to be more effective and minister to many more people with God's love.

 

In many ways, our prayer is that New Hope Christian Fellowship A/G would become a center of community ministry.  A place where both the physical and spirtual needs of our community are ministered to. We will meet there weekly as a gathering of believers, share life with one another and grow in Christ together. But, we will also be able to host community meals, provide needed services to the community, provide a positive place for our youth and more.  All of this and more, so that all feel welcome, find a safe place regardless of life's journey and ultimately find new hope, freedom and saving grace through the love of Jesus Christ.

 

We firmly believe that at this point in our journey, we are far more effective and efficient with a church facility, than without! When we understand that this building's purpose is to facilitate the ministry that God has called us to have in the Shepherdsville community, we believe that God will meet the needs for the building.

 

He already has started!!  As you may know, New Hope owns 3+ acres of land on Cedar Grove Rd., less than a half mile west of I-65 (exit #116). That is a miracle as well, by the way... For 8 years, we have moved from schools to rented facilities and have been praying for a miracle regarding a building on this land.  Over the last 2-3 months, I have asked that we pray for God to provide a way that we CANNOT see with our own eyes.  This week... HE DID!

 

I was notified of a church member of Cornerstone A/G in London, KY who had purchased a 110'x55' steel building and due to a job transfer would not be erecting the building. He paid $38,000 for it and was offering it for $10,000 to a church that could use it.  Joe Rayhill and I made a trip to London on Wednesday to inspect the building.  It is still banded and ready to be delivered to our building site like new. This is an amazing opportunity for our church!  God has provided a $40,000 6000 SF building to us for only $10,000. 

 

So, our immediate need is simple.  $1000 has already been placed down on the building and we have until January 2012 to complete the transaction with the remaining $9000.  I believe that God can use you to help supply not only that amount, but also additional funds needed in order to prepare the site for construction.  However, our immediate need is the $9,000.

 

 

Will you please prayerfully consider how you and/or your family can be a part of making this a reality today?  One family has already given $1000.  It would only take 9 more families to do the same.  Or, perhaps 18 giving $500 or 90 giving $100.  You understand... All gifts are appreciated... please consider how God would have you sacrificially give.
